What potty-training methods are out there?

There are a whole lot of Potty Training Methods, below are a few methods.

Practice till you get it right potty Method:
This requires you to hold regular practice session where you ask your child to sit and pee. With some planning you can make practice sessions into a routine, it’s done gradually over time, there will be very limited accidents since your child has diapers on, you can make practice sessions become routine. This method could take a lot of time, depending on the child's maturity level and temperament.
The Wait and Pee/Poop Method: You may have to start this method at around age two. Study your child’s pee or poop pattern. Watch for signs that your child wants to pee/poop, try not to pressure him or her. Ensure that a potty seat is in the bathroom, but don't force him or her to use it. Encourage your child to use the potty and praise him or her when it’s used. You’ll experience few accidents when your child ready. This method would probably make your child be in diapers longer than with other methods.

The Potty Training in One Day Method:
This includes, the Teaching through pretend play (with a doll that simulates urination), Positive reinforcement (food rewards), practice drills, and over correcting for accidents making your child perform pretend, practice runs immediately after he or she has peed in his or her pants. The method was originally designed for children with special needs. It was made famous by Dr. Phil. It is a structured method. It requires follow through by parents.

The Potty Planner Method:
With this method, you’ll need to set aside some time probably before your child starts school and make a focused effort to promote potty use. Stay close to home and gently steer your toddler to the bathroom at predictable intervals (also ask if he or she needs to go, to help him or her recognize the sensations). At the end of the allotted time, your child would have been trained to an extent on how to use his or her potty when pressed. You'll need to be available at the stipulated time for this to be effective. You’ll probably succeed with this if your child is cooperative and does not get easily distracted.

The Naked Method:
You let your child go naked all day with a potty chair available at all times. It’s Simple, No planning or preparation is needed and it’s a great method during dry season/summer. It’s a no no method by experts, it makes the whole place messy resulting from lots of accidents also, your Child may not understand this method when he or she has his or her clothes on.

The Training Pants Method:
This method requires your child to use disposable training pants instead of diapers. You’ll also need to take him or her to the bathroom at different times. You should also often ask if there’s need to go and pee or poop. You could try “wet sensation” diapers that cause a coolness when your child pee, also ask your child to tell you when he or she pee or poop so you can start timing his or her potty trips. Disposable trainers can increase your child's awareness of his or her own bowels. Though, disposable training pants can be more expensive. Disposables will reduce the anxiety for you and your child. Don’t forget to praise your child when he or she gets to the potty in time.
The Reward Method: For this method, you’ll need to regularly reward your child after a potty triumph with something that you know your child loves. This has a way of motivating your child, but could also make your child demand compensation for every “No Accidents”. You need wisdom on when to draw the line and keep trying different rewards that would be effective.

Wait till the time is right Potty Training Method:
This is one of the most common used methods. Here, you don’t need a large commitment on time or consistency, it requires very little preparation or planning and it’s very easy do if you have a very busy lifestyle. It takes a long time. It’s expensive too as you’ll spend a lot on diapers. Wetting and soiling themselves can become entrenched habits. When the child is ready they will decide to use the potty and in effect will train themselves.
